compiling Hurd source code

Hello,
I am a beginner in Hurd.
I am trying to compile the Hurd source code.But I am doing this on linux
machine.I did a configure by specifying the options build and host.
But I am not able to compile successfully.
I get following error,
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `hurd.h', needed by
`ugids-verify-auth.d'.  Stop.
make: *** [libshouldbeinlibc] Error 2

What might be done to proceed?
