A pre-release of the upcoming GNU MIG 1.3.2 (called 1.3.1.99) is now available from <ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/mig/>. Please test and report back! GNU MIG is the GNU distribution of the Mach 3.0 interface generator `MIG', as maintained by the GNU Hurd developers for the GNU project. The interface generator produces stub code from interface definition (`.defs') files. The stub code makes it easy to implement and use Mach interfaces as remote procedure calls (RPC). You need this tool to compile the GNU Mach and GNU Hurd distributions, and to compile the GNU C library for the Hurd. Also, you will need it for other software in the GNU system that uses Mach-based inter-process communication. Bug reports relating to this distribution or requests for assistance should be sent to <[email protected]> or filed on <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?group=hurd> or <http://savannah.gnu.org/support/?group=hurd>. The distributed files are available from <ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/mig/mig-1.3.1.99.tar.bz2> with the detached signature <ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/mig/mig-1.3.1.99.tar.bz2.sig> or <ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/mig/mig-1.3.1.99.tar.gz> with the detached signature <ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/mig/mig-1.3.1.99.tar.gz.sig>. They are signed with my 7E5D4D35 signing subkey (main key is 91A707E4) which is available from a keyserver that properly handles subkeys, like the <hkp://subkeys.pgp.net> one. MD5 checksums: 27d24e8c35e73dff4700723ac5292c84 mig-1.3.1.99.tar.bz2 d87d16873754cde46d37926406e4e8d6 mig-1.3.1.99.tar.gz NEWS since version 1.3.1, 2002-08-29: * Don't accept the `-R' (msg_send) command line option anymore and make the `-r' one (msg_rpc) a no-op. * Fix warnings when compiling generated files with GCC 4.x. * Handle the preprocessor option `-isystem' correctly. * Cope with command line arguments the contain whitespace. * Be more careful to catch write errors when closing files. * The `debian/' subdirectory of packaging files is not included anymore. Again: thanks to everyone who helped in making this release, be it by having provided patches, suggestions, comments or whatever else. If you'd like to donate money, pizza, beer, teddy bears, etc., expressing your support for the work we've done, please contact us at <[email protected]> and we will arrange.
