Hurd translators on BSD

I heard of translator on NetBSD only and this is what I found this
spring: http://netbsd-soc.sourceforge.net/projects/hurdt/ .

However, when I tried to knock on the doors of the NetBSD project with
questions and suggestions about translators I received *no* answer (I
really mean this nobody bothered to answer to my E-mail), so I'm not
sure NetBSD people are so very much excited about having translators.
(But this may well be the result of some coincidence that I didn't get
replies).

Attitudes may be different on other BSD systems, though.
