It does very much indeed!  (I run build.sh with -j 24 on this host)

Nothing MIPS related on this machine -- it's an x86_64 macPRO.

Core dumps were disabled on my machine, but I've re-enabled them, but I
don't think an extra core would add any info -- this is almost certainly
a parallel make problem.

I'll attach my error to the PR.
