VGA console mode

hi all,

i m trying to write the cosole driver for one of the netbsd ports.
i want to know NetBSD console operates in which mode.
I feel that is operates in VGA 640*400 mode. with 8*16 character set.

Can anybody tell me whether it is correct.

When do we set up the VGA card parameters? I have a 69030 VGA(PCI) card?
