Well, it looks like that, for now at least, the MKCRYPTO option can 
remain.  christos@ has stepped up and fixed many of the issues affecting 
today's build (I will be starting a build shortly to see if they the 
build can now complete).

So I guess we'll defer this question for now, only to have to come back 
to it next time.
