kernel panic esm driver on FUjitsu Siemens Lifebook E Series

Hi,

I have a very old Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook E Series that makes kernel
panic on the esm driver with the i386 installer.

If I disable the esm driver I am able to boot and install.
On OpenBSD the Notebook works fine.

I have a old NetBSD 6.1 boot.iso around, which also kernel panics. So
this is not a new issue.

Is anyone interested in looking into this?
