If you find that useful, why do you feel you need an external approval
for scratching your own itch?  Just do it and use it for yourself.
(As they say in another retrocomputing forum I lurk at: "We don't ask
'Why?' or 'What for?' here". :) Many folks here carry (often a lot of)
their own tweaks and patches.
