Switching to bge0, I see the same - no output for the DomU host unless I 
specify 'and vlan 2'.

Setting up the same tcpdump probes for the bge0 scenario, I do get the 
arp requests from DomU _and_ replies to them both on vlan2 and the 
physical interface (with proper vlan specified).
