I don't know if you follow pkgsrc-bulk@ but this update has caused a
huge amount of fallout. It no longer builds on macOS:

   https://reports.pkgci.org/Darwin/14.5/arm64/20260516T132839Z/report.html

and while it builds on illumos, it breaks a significant number of
individual R-* packages due to stricter C requirements (so will likely
also break on other platforms with GCC 14+):

   https://reports.pkgci.org/SmartOS/upstream/trunk/20260517T194506Z/report.html

There's also the long-standing issue of these packages performing build
operations during the 'install' phase, which goes against pkgsrc policy.

Is there a plan for fixing these?

Thanks,
