As there seems to be a reasonable amount of disagreement, or at least lack of consensus, on how to proceed, I've changed tack and am instead working on a "cmake-bundled" PKG_OPTION for it which will avoid external dependencies, and folks like me can just enable this option. I think that's probably the simplest path forward here. Maybe one day we could go all fancy and have some detection for other PKG_OPTIONS being enabled and automatically enable it when it will cause circular dependencies. -- Jonathan Perkin pkgsrc.smartos.org Open Source Complete Cloud www.tritondatacenter.com
