I've just pushed this patch to my builds for testing:

It also cleans up the test suite, nearly a third of all tests were 
failing due to a simple colour misconfiguration issue so I don't think 
it's been ran in a while.

If it looks ok I plan to commit but without the PKG_SUGGESTED_OPTIONS 
which is enabled for my builds.
