I do see several mentions of USE_[I|C]MAKE in the pkgsrc guide, so USE_JAM would parallel that.  But I also see that MAKE_PROGRAM gets set to gmake if gmake is in USE_TOOLS.  Which is the more correct/preferred way to go?
