Is there a way to mark a dependency as non-critical, and won't stop the build if it doesn't exist? For example, doxygen is used to create doco, but the software will work just fine without doco. Also, packages may automatically disable functionality if prereqs aren't found during configuration, but you need to note the dependency if you want to try to build them.
