Trying to upgrade to latest version 1.16.1 due to above issue.

Get the following error:

configure: error: ncursesw is absolutely required!


I checked config.log. Whatever test program is mentioned there with
whatever command line used there compiles fine on command prompt.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?
