I see it was imported to pkgsrc. Since then, the new version was issued,
but as it is no longer in -wip I am unable to update the package. What
is the best way for me to ensure that the package gets updated?

Should I mail the person, who imported the package, or open a PR (as I
did this time -- pkg/35712 [1]) each time?
