AlephOne is the open-sourced game engine for playing the Marathon games that Bungie created in the '90s. I've worked with the A1 devs to work out NetBSD-specific kinks, and would like to see this added to pkgsrc. To test: 1) Build wip/alephone, of course. 2) Get one of the "unimap" scenarios from trilogyrelease.bungie.org - they are about 2/3 of the way down the page. 3) Unzip the scenario somewhere - I recommend /usr/local/share/AlephOne/Scenarios or ~/.alephone/Scenarios, but it doesn't really matter. 4) Export ALEPHONE_DATA to point at the path of the directory you just created (e.g. ~/.alephone/Scenarios/Infinity). 5) Run alephone. You ought to see a few lines of credits in your terminal, then the game splash screen. Run with it from there.
