I agree.

However, I'll try to keep wip/joomla as up-to-date as possible because I have 
it on one host and upgrading it with pkgsrc tools is easier than the "mv joomla 
joomla.old; tar xjz ...; mv somefiles somewhere" method.

And the good thing with wip is that I don't need to care about pullup requests :-)
