If it's just the dependency, use: BUILDLINK_API_DEPENDS.boost-libs+= boost-libs>=whatever On the other hand, DEPENDS doesn't make the library available for linking, so I assume it doesn't really link against boost-libs, and then I wonder if the dependency is completely unneeded.
