Your email is to the "wip" list. Because they are works-in-progress, you 
can just make the changes yourself. If you are unsure contact the 
maintainers for each package. If no real maintainer, then commit yourself.

If you are talking about the real pkgsrc, you may want to use send-pr or 
the GNATS system. Sending emails to the list may be read but there is no 
assignment, no responsibility, and no tracking of your patch.

Also, just like you are a volunteer, the others here are volunteers[*]. 
You may have to wait on their schedule(s).
