panic, i386, smp, -rsommerfeld_i386mp_1

Dear tech-smp,

I am the owner of a intel E7500 based chipset (netbsd recognizes it) 
and double xeon 2.2ghz on it.

cvs checout -D20020818 syssrc
(20020818 is the last current version supported by rsommerfeld)

then moved the whole thing to /usr/src/sys
and cd /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/
cvs up -d -P -rsommerfeld_i386mp_1
It worked perfectly.
Then i compiled the GENERIC.MP kernel.
When installed, i got the following error:

pci1 i/o space, memory space enabled
panic: config_attach

If you can help me, please do and CC your answers to my e-mail as i'm 
not subscribed to tech-smp.
