Just to make this a rambling story: I thought I was buying a Dell Precision 410 with 1 450 Mhz proc and 128 mem from www.computersurplusoutlet.com for $200 with a 90 day guarantee. I even bought a second proc to put in it. What I got was a Dell Precision 610 with 2 450 Mhz PII Xeon chips and 512 mem. I installed NetBSD 1.6P from the iso image in the snapshot directory, and then built an MP kernel from the source tarball found there. It comes right up in dual processor mode without a hitch. The only oddity is that NetBSD thinks they are PIII processors. -- Rick Kelly [email protected] www.rmkhome.com
