It's too bad that pkgsrc's pkgtools/libnbcompat and the tools/compat
stuff aren't one in the same, or at least API-compatible.  More than
once I've fallen into the trap of thinking they already were.

It should then be possible to install bmake (and pkgtools/libnbcompat)
and then use the existing BSD Makefiles to build anything that's also in
tools, and indeed many other BSD sources as well; i.e. on pretty much
any POSIX-compatible platform.
