Mesa.old should use "*old*" files.  if there's a bug with it using
the non-"*old*" file, we should fix it.

the idea is that we can upgrade mesa slowly (i just haven't gotten
around to finishing studying what it needs yet.)  the two setups
should be 100% separate (and, currently, should be identical.)
