I'm still not convinced the non-rendered characters is related.
There was an issue on r/voidlinux, https://www.reddit.com/r/voidlinux/comments/12jov6s/firefox_1120_1_texts_are_not_displayed/

which, I couldn't reproduce on my machine.
Unfortunately, there was no solution/reason found.
I can not reproduce it either on NetBSD, firefox displays all characters.
