FWIW VAX firmware knows nothing about TC framebuffers (of course embedded REX tests can be run), but hardware is compatible and I was able to get OS console (glass TTY) output with one of the heftier SFB+ variants, possibly ZLX-E3 aka PMAGD-CA, with my 4000/90 box booting Linux. I guess I could try it with NetBSD sometime, but I yet need to figure out how to make the 4000/90 boot the system more than once in the first place (and it won't happen soon, sorry). Maciej
