I indeed think that I have stressed the filesystem very much, compiling the base system and packages many times, deleting and uncompresing sources and packages tree. I also use heavily thunderbird with hundreds of emails through VNC sessions. I have here a spare SD card, I will reinstall NetBSD and see how it lasts, I do not plan to buy anything now but an USB SSD drive will be far more reliable as you have pointed out (it is not a critical system here)..
