If you have a graphical user-interface, you may want to consider KDirStat.  
KDirStat displays a graphical representation -  
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treemap - of your disk usage.  In addition to  
that, it comes with some cleanup facilities to reclaim disk space.
