Actually, rather than 'hard wiring' the ports, it can be better to set the ANAR (auto-negotiate advertise register) to only allow the single mode of operation you want. Provided the other system isn't a 10M hub, or a 10/100M hub that uses 'autosensing', they they PHYs will fail to align with each other if there is a mismatch. David -- David Laight: [email protected]
