SATA support question(s)

Hi,

I intend to add a SATA disk to my "old" Asus A7V8X mainboard, which has 
a Promise PDC20376 SATA controller supporting 1 ATA133 channel (2 SATA 
connectors). Does this controller support the current SATA disks? Does 
the driver wd(4) support this contoller?
