getty repeating too quickly on port `/dev/console', sleeping

In xconsole I run from my ~/.xinitrc I see the following messages. I login to the system using xdm which is enabled by setting xdm=yes in /etc/rc.conf. Is something wrong with NetBSD's xdm? It is from NetBSD's xsrc.
