Now I come to think of it, the latest icside.c will need the latest version
of some other parts of the kernel too, so yes, get the whole of sys.tar.gz,
then you'll probably need to build the version of config(8) that comes with
it and use that to configure a new kernel.

Alternatively, you could get a -current GENERIC kernel from
<ftp://releng.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/current/200211070000/
 acorn32/binary/kernel/netbsd-GENERIC.gz> and see if that behaves.

This is entirely possible, yes.  I haven't tried using mine with the drivers
*Unplug'ed.
