Yes, it probably is, but not for 1.6.1 (too late).

This has been discussed briefely and it was not clear what other changes
would need pullup too, since some ports had kernel bugs fixed to help the
modified ld.elf_so.

It might be a good idea to work on it right after 1.6.1 is out.
