Hmm.  That would be nice and simple, and would have the advantage of meaning
that the user's choices for RISC OS would Just Work in NetBSD.  It's
certainly better than forcing 8-bit mode.

Ooh.  Looks like there are several different ways that 16-bit sound can be
done.  This might be more interesting than I'd thought...
