If it drops to ddb again, can you run the bt command and capture a 
backtrace? That might tell us more about what's happened.

I suspect that the arm6 support isn't that well used/tested any more as 
most arm devices are arm7 or later.  Sadly the arm 610 I have doesn't 
boot with risc-os 4.03 (not sure if it's a dead CPU or incompatible OS)
