I netbooted stock 5.2 and it booted just fine. So I'm just putting 5.2 on the machine. I've cross-built my 5.2, netbooted the result, then, running diskless, built _my_ 5.2 and installed that onto the disk. I'm now doing setup for it. I don't quite understand why 1.4T booted just fine a half-dozen times before I replaced the battery, but that's the only remaining mystery for me. It seems to be fine with 5.2. If I get ambitious, I may try to convince 1.4T to work, but I don't know whether that's worth the bother. /~\ The ASCII Mouse \ / Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML [email protected] / \ Email! 7D C8 61 52 5D E7 2D 39 4E F1 31 3E E8 B3 27 4B
