Faced it already. It does drop the connection.

That apart.

I was trying to use a home NAS built on pi remotely. But the home network
uses CGNAT, effectively, the round trip time is very high, even though the
peers are nearby (or even on same LAN for instance).

Perhaps not an ideal use case for wireguard.
