Having seem a recent message about the snapdragon x2 laptop being supported=
by NetBSD I figured I would ask about getting Snapdragon X Elite laptops w=
orking, I have a dell XPS 9345 and I just tried to boot the NetBSD-Head ima=
ge on my usb card and can give you some feedback if there is the potential =
to make some headway, I have arch linux arm running on it currently and wou=
ld much prefer NetBSD, I was going to try OpenBSD as they have claimed to h=
ave some x1e80100 support but it seems NetBSD is pushing forward as well an=
d I prefer NetBSD, so the usb drive currently loads the bootmanager and loa=
ds the kernel but freezes on xhci2 @ acpi0 (USB3, QCOM0D08-3): mem 0xa40000=
0-0xa4fffe irq 339,562,563,560,561 happening at the timestamp 1.0000040, it=
hangs on screen for a bit then reboots, I could provide a photo of all the=
modules that loaded prior if desired I'd rather not type them all out, I u=
sed the generic-aarch64 image, there is no dtb for my soc but it did still =
start to load, Dell has released the binary firmware blobs to opensource fo=
r my model in march, I can also provide any other details needed, I would a=
bsolutely love to help port NetBSD to this laptop/chipset if that is someth=
ing I could help work with. Just let me know.
