9000/400 series ISA/EISA drivers

I have an HP 9000/433s with four ISA or EISA slots. Does NetBSD provide enough of an abstraction for ISA devices that a supported device should just work, or do drivers need to be adapted to the system?

I’m curious in part because the built in AUI port is physically damaged, and it’d be convenient to use an ISA 10Base-T card instead of thin Ethernet. But of course there are other ISA devices that might turn out to be fun to play with if they’d just work. (Obviously nothing that requires executing an on-card BIOS, of course…)
