hp 735/99 boots netbsd

I booted my 735/99 on netbsd over the lan.

Before it went into multiuser mode, there is much output about "chgrp" which 
it can't find because its on /usr which was not yet mounted.

I keep getting this on the console:
break instruction at 0x5:0x29480, iir=0x00000000                             
first ld yields 0xea9f1fdd                                                   
second ld yields 0xea9f1fdd

At one time these messages came so quickly I couldn't enter the shutdown 
command.

Is anyone booting off a disk? If so what are you using to boot?
