Didn't Antti Kantee <pooka@> worked on something similar for NetBSD as
part of google's summer of code?

PS: This discussion probably belongs to some other list, as there's
nothing hpcarm specific about it, netbsd-users@ probably.  You can get
an advice from a wider audience there.
