I do still have my Soekris around (but unused); however, I just took a 
look at it, and it turns out I was mistaken--I have a net5501, not 
net4501.

But FWIW, I plugged it in, and its BIOS is:

comBIOS ver. 1.33  20070103  Copyright (C) 2000-2007 Soekris Engineering.

In any case, glad to hear the extended read works, at least.
