Just a FYI regarding an open PR on the amd64 port that appears to affect i386 as well. NetBSD PR #57821: On some machines, NetBSD/amd64 cannot get correct century data http://gnats.netbsd.org/57821 I'm seeing pretty much the same behavior on an old 32 bit HP SLimline; the pertinent dmesg output: [ 5.5878455] WARNING: NVRAM century is 16 but RTC year is 2025 where "16" varies with each boot. Booting with 'netbsd -2' (ACPI disabled) fixes the issue but of course introduces other issues. Haven't tried the /sys/arch/x86/isa/rtc.c patch yet but I suspect it would work. I didn't want to file a new PR and I couldn't see a way to add feedback to the forementioned PR so thought I'd post here where perhaps a developer could add a comment. -B -- System info: $ uname -a NetBSD slimline 10.1_STABLE NetBSD 10.1_STABLE (GENERIC) #0: \ Fri Dec 20 18:31:34 UTC 2024 \ [email protected]:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC i386 $ sysctl machdep.dmi. machdep.dmi.system-vendor = HP Pavilion 061 machdep.dmi.system-product = ER191AA-ABA s7421c machdep.dmi.system-version = 0nx1104RE101ONYX200 machdep.dmi.bios-vendor = American Megatrends Inc. machdep.dmi.bios-version = 3.06 machdep.dmi.bios-date = 20051028 machdep.dmi.board-vendor = ASUSTeK Computer INC. machdep.dmi.board-product = Onyx2 machdep.dmi.board-version = 1.xx machdep.dmi.chassis-vendor = Chassis Manufacture machdep.dmi.chassis-type = Chassis Serial Number machdep.dmi.chassis-version = Chassis Version machdep.dmi.chassis-asset-tag = Asset-1234567890 machdep.dmi.processor-vendor = Intel machdep.dmi.processor-version = Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 2.00GHz machdep.dmi.processor-frequency = 2000 MHz
