The machine which runs qemu can be used to cross compile, no? NetBSD's source tree can be used to cross compile NetBSD from macOS, from Linux, from other BSDs... I sometimes use my Arm Mac with macOS, and it works fine. A graphite Mac should still be able to do it a good hundred times faster than on a Mac with an '030. John
