Ntpd acting up?

Does anyone here have success running ntpd?

On a dual G4 quicksilver I see regular logs like:

ntpd[13995]: kernel reports TIME_ERROR: 0x6041: Clock Unsynchronized

And that is with the machine being mostly idle, plus the only NTP server
on the same local ethernet.
