unfortunately, my ofppc box isn't powering up anymore, and i have
no other working powerpc boxes handy, so i'm not really in a good
position to figure this out.

i did test compiles on my pegasosII, but perhaps something broke
since i last tested, and the switch itself (they were some time
apart, though i don't recall exactly.)
