That's one option, being the more traditional one, and which is more suited if you'll be applying local patches and/or searching for the bug by debugging. Another option if you just want to try a newer binary pre-built kernel would be to fetch it from the daily builds, e.g. kern-GENERIC.MP.tgz from ftp://nyftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/HEAD/latest/macppc/binary/sets/ Regards, - Håvard
