Thank you for the suggestion, my apologies for the delay in responding! 
I use gmane for these lists and it seems my earlier response did not 
send properly through the gmane system.

I tried that and get any error stating atomic64.mk cannot be found.

I searched and nothing turns up. i.e. find  /usr/pkgsrc/mk -name 
'*atom*' returns nothing


libatomic is absolutely installed, I am certain
