My experience with 422 is limited, but usually I've gotten _something_
when hooking a 422 sender up to a 232 receiver.  Don't 422 senders
usually drive the data pins relative to ground?  I have trouble
imagining why anyone would bother building differential serial senders
that are DC-isolated from the rest of the machine.
