Xorg on Radeon eMac

Has anyone successfully gotten Xorg to work on a Radeon eMac? My 2005 
eMac has Radeon 9600 graphics. Default Xorg results in a black screen 
and complains about a missing "theatre_detect" module. I have not yet 
tried with XFree86 nor XMacppc. Using Generic kernel and default 
Xorg.conf.
